Health Game Advisory Resist unhealthy games and refuse pirated games. Pay attention to self-protection and be wary of scams. Moderate gaming is good for the mind, while excessive gaming is harmful to the body. Arrange your time wisely and enjoy a healthy life.
This “Health Gaming Advisory” was drafted and passed by the Gaming Committee of the China Publishing Workers Association, with the aim of upholding social stability, promoting the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, protecting the physical and mental health of young people, continuously enhancing the social responsibility of game publishing operators, strengthening industry self-discipline, and promoting the healthy and orderly development of the gaming publishing industry. It was drafted and passed based on extensive solicitation of opinions from various sectors of society. The General Administration of Press and Publication believes that the “Health Gaming Advisory” is conducive to industry standardization, protecting consumer interests, and has been formally announced after approval.
On September 20, 2003, the General Administration of Press and Publication announced the “Notification Regarding the Inclusion of ‘Health Gaming Advisory’ in Gaming Publications,” stipulating that henceforth, the full text of the “Health Gaming Advisory” must be prominently displayed in all electronic gaming publications and internet gaming publications. Gaming publications that fail to include the “Health Gaming Advisory” as required by the notification will be immediately ceased from publication, operation, and sales.
According to the notification issued by the General Administration of Press and Publication, starting from September 1, 2003, newly published electronic gaming publications and internet gaming publications must implement necessary procedures to prominently display the full text of the “Health Gaming Advisory” before the start of the game. For electronic gaming publications published and distributed prior to September 1, 2003, the “Health Gaming Advisory” must be included upon reprinting.
The notification requires that local press and publication bureaus rigorously supervise this work. Gaming publications that fail to include the “Health Gaming Advisory” as required by the notification will be immediately ceased from publication, operation, and sales. At the same time, gaming publishing units should closely collaborate with publishing administrative departments, educational departments, and the Communist Youth League system to carry out effective publicity, enabling consumers, especially young consumers, to understand the “Health Gaming Advisory” and guiding young people to use gaming publications in a legal, scientific, and moderate manner, thus creating a civilized and healthy living environment for them.
